Sheckler was born in San Clemente, California

, the son of Gretchen ( Walsh), who manages his career, and Randall Sheckler, a mechanical engineer. He has two younger brothers, Shane and Kane Sheckler. At an age of eighteen months, he began skateboarding and turned pro at thirteen.
