 grant helped build a road from Răşinari to Prislop, but the road stops at the village entrance. The inhabitants live in poverty, their only guaranteed income being social assistance from town hall. In winter, some sell brooms and baskets, while in summer, others sell blueberries, raspberries and sponges. Access to safe drinking water and street lighting are limited, and the roads in the village are made of dirt. There is one school from kindergarten to 4th grade; pupils who finish can go on through 8th grade in Răşinari.
