The Department of Electrical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology
was founded in 1967. With years of activity it is one of the oldest departments of Sharif University of Technology
(acronym: SUT). The department has about 1000 undergraduate students and 400 graduate students
that students with the highest scores in The University Entrance Exam (most of the top 200 ranks) choose this academy for their undergraduate studies. (the same applies to the whole Sharif University of Technology
in a larger scale) As a result due to the hard work that succeeding in The University Entrance Exam demands, most these students are quite bright and hardworking. In fact most of them come from NODET
schools. NODET schools are national Middle and High Schools in Iran developed specifically for the development of exceptionally talented students in Iran.
The chair of Electrical Engineering Department of Stanford University has announced that: "Without a doubt the finest university in the world preparing undergraduate Electrical engineers is Sharif University of Technology in Tehran".
