Originally, the team was called the Fresno Heat, but it was renamed as Fresno Heatwave to avoid brand confusion with the National Basketball Association

and became the Sacramento Heatwave. They played at Natomas H. S. Event Center
for some 2006-2007 games. They team moved to play at Folsom High School
for the next seasons, and currently they are playing at West Campus High School in Sacramento.
