Plot

Sadie Jenkins is a thirteen-year-old schoolgirl who often finds herself stuck in the middle of dilemmas which she resolves with different solutions every dilemma. She uses Cheryl Cole

Kit Carter and Dede Baxter are Sadie's two best friends often hang out together in 'The Y Diner', which is run by Miss V and encounter people such as the Canadian Chloe (but also known to Sadie, Dede and Kit as Trog Face because Chloe isn't very nice to Sadie). , smashed a robot that Dede made for a competition, had a sleepover party that was 'fantabulicious' (Sadie likes to put words together to make them sound cool), won an award for a dress she didn't make Dede made it, fell while catwalking, been to a geek party thinking it was a try out for the Cheerleading team (The Cheer Ups) instead of attending Kit's drama award ceremony and a Space Cargo Convention with Dede and featured on a girl magazine (Girltastic).

  ) always speaks to the camera. She's a girl who often takes advantage of her friends' (Dede Baxter and Kit Karter) talents and takes credit for them. Despite this, she always realises what she does wrong and her friends stick by her. Sadie has a sibling (Danny Jenkins), parent (Steve Jenkins), dog (Roger) and a mechanical apprentice (Keith) with whom she shares a household. All of these are male people, hence, her habits are those of a boy and there is no girl role model for her to look up to. This is the reason why some of her fashion tastes are so bad, she has such bad manners and is better than her brother and his best friend at football.
• Dede Baxter (Priyanka Patel) one of the three primary main characters is portrayed as a girl who is extremely clever and determined to achieve 100% in everything. She does not have much in common with Sadie, but she is often taken advantage of and has her talents exploited. This happens to Dede more often than it does to Kit. For example, she has 'the voice of Mariah Carey', in one episode, when Sadie is determined to prove herself as a fantastic singer, she uses Dede's voice and mimes so that she is no longer a social outcast. In a bid to prove herself to Kit as a fashion icon to Kit, Sadie attempts to make a dress that everyone thinks is horrible. Dede agrees to help her and uses her history knowledge to create the 'perfect costume' for 'The Y Fundraiser'. Everyone agrees it is a wonderful dress and Sadie takes credit for it.

   by critics, he always participates in productions and knows the latest fashions off by heart. He is a celebrity follower and knows the latest music too. It is also revealed that he has a secret talent for cooking and he makes top quality 'Pixie Lott Pies'. He has common interests with Sadie J in that both of them want to be at the top of the social hierarchy. Also he is obsessed with himself.
• Danny (Will Nye) is Sadie's little brother who is always up to mischief with his best friend Jake (see below)
• Jake (Bobby Fuller) is Danny's partner in crime. Bobby Fuller is also known for his leading role in the film The Itch Of The Golden Nit for the voice of Beanie, which has broke a guinness world record for most people contributing to one film.

  ) is the owner of the 'Y' Diner and is branded by Sadie as 'scary diner owner'. She is Russian and portrayed as a strict woman, determined to make her diner the best business.
• Steve Jenkins (Steve Speirs) is the widowed father of Sadie Jenkins and runs a mechanic business from his garage. He stands up for Sadie and his character is a kind, but gruff person who can be considered 'uncool' and loves his family.
• Keith Woods (Alfie Stewart) is a mechanical apprentice. He is portrayed as stupid and often helps Steve with many other things besides his mechanics business. He lives with Steve and his family and is like Steve's brother or son.

Series 1

Throughout the series Sadie Jenkins uses terms ending with 'tastic' and 'licious'. This is also the title of the majority of the episodes in the series. However, it is unknown whether Series 2 will use the same themes.

Series 2

The show has been commissioned for a second series and it has been confirmed there will be new characters. These are:

• Taylor Bell (aged 14) - Sadie's crush.
• Ashlii (aged 14) a stylish social networker, who works at 'The Y'

The second series is due to air in January 2012 on CBBC.

Background

The series was created by Robert Evans and produced by Paul McKenzie. It is based on Evans' real life niece Sadie and her younger brother Danny (who also share their names with the onscreen brother and sister).
