Death

She died in mysterious circumstances after splitting up with her husband, Rashid Jamil, whom she married in an Islamic ceremony. Months after the ceremony, it became known to Daftary that her husband had another wife and two children in the Manchester area, and may have had another wife in Pakistan. Daftary fell from the 12th floor of a building in Salford Quays, Manchester, England, the day before an appearance at a fashion show in Manchester, an appearance she cancelled saying she "felt sick". Though the circumstances relating to her death are unknown, her estranged husband was taken into custody due to evidence linking him to her death. Jamil was present in the flat and the two were having an argument at the time of her death, however Jamil claims he is innocent of any wrongdoing.
