Getting there

The motorway Paris/Le Mans/Rennes gives a direct access to the place. Get out of the motorway at La Gravelle toll (péage).

The local train (TER, train express régional) from Laval to Vitré/Rennes is stopping there. The time table is matching the schools needs.

To see

The village lives from its underground for decades. Lafarge cimenterie is the main financial resource there. A nice walk to the top of an artificial hill offers a large view to the huge stones extraction hole. Once a year, at spring time, Lafarge is taking part to the industry opening. Tickets to visit the cimenterie can be bought at Laval tourist office.

Two stone ages, called Menhirs de la Pierre Bouillante, are accessible for motivated people in the middle of the forest.

Services/Facilities

The village has public primary schools (up to CM2 classes - around 10 years old). A private collège (up to 15 years old) is also available there. The public collège is just the village nearby (Port-Brillet).

You can find all kind of services including a small supermarket, a post office, two backers, two pubs, a restaurant near the small park/lake, a 24h petrol station, two garages including one with car-washing facilities, a pharmacy and a public library.

The fish lorry is coming once a week during day time. The pizza lorry is also coming once a week in the evening.

A football ground, two outdoor tennis grounds, two sport halls, are available. Among sport activities, you have a roller club, yoga courses, gymnastique courses, football, judo, tennis and so on.

The closest swimming pool is the Vitré city indoor swimming pool with two pools and jacuzzi facilities. Other swimming pools can be found in Ernée and Laval.

Cinema can be found at le Bourgneuf-la-Forêt (local cinema), Vitré or Laval.

Other activities and services are provided by the gathering of villages (Pays de Loiron) like music activities. Collection of special wastes are collected in the Décheterie in Port-Brillet on the way to La Brûlatte village. Volunter firefighters are based in Port-Brillet. In Loiron village, by the main road to Laval, you can find a cybercenter and a veterinary.
