Sammaat is the name of the original population of the Sindh
province of Pakistan
. They are Sindhi Rajput
by race, and they are the long dwellers of the region. Sammaat came to Sindh
as Aryan
immigrants and since then have lived in the region. It is generally accepted that they are the descendants of Sam son of Krishan (Lord Krishna
).
