Samuel Egerton was a British Member of Parliament
.
He was a son of John Egerton of Tatton Park
(a grandson of John Egerton, 2nd Earl of Bridgwater) by his wife Elizabeth, daughter of Samuel Barbour. He married Beatrix, daughter of the Rev. John Copley, and had by her a daughter Beatrix, who married Daniel Wilson of Dallam Tower (son of Edward Wilson and grandson of Daniel Wilson
), but died without issue in 1779.
He was Member of Parliament for Cheshire
from 1 May 1754 until his death.
His sister Hester became heiress of the Tatton estates, and her son William adopted the surname of Egerton and was the ancestor of the Barons Egerton.
