San Gabriel Mission High School, the "school with a mission," is an all-girl's Catholic
College Preparatory high school located on the grounds of the fourth mission of California, which was founded in 1771 by the Franciscan
Padres and often used by Father Junipero Serra
as his headquarters. It is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles
. Their Mission statement is:
The Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose, who arrived in California in 1876, have administered and taught at Mission since its founding in 1949. It was originally co-educational, but there were many classes where the boys and girls were separated. There were two principals, one for the boys and one for the girls. Some classes were co-educational.

are 80.% Hispanic, 8.% Asian, 7.6% Caucasian, 2.6% Filipina, and 1.2% African-American
champions in 2009 and were in the playoffs in both 2010 and 2011. There is also an excellent Volleyball team in addition to Soccer, Track & Field, Basketball, Cross Country and Softball teams.
Their "Lady Pioneer" Athletic Booster Club members believe that academics and athletics go hand in hand for the success of their Young Lady Pioneers. The Mission Booster Club is dedicated to the continued support of their student athletes, coaching staff, trainers, and athletic department programs.
In 2006, a new event to San Gabriel Mission High School was added. The traditional "Snow Ball" was turned into Homecoming. Homecoming was formerly an informal dance, but in 2006 it was transformed into a formal dance. On record, the first formal Homecoming dance was on January 28, 2006. The first Homecoming Queen was Lucy Garcia, Class of 2006. The second Homecoming Queen of 2007 was Alex Estrada, Class of 2007. Prom Queen 2007 was Yvonne Bacio, Class of 2007.

ASB / Student Council / Clubs
The Associated Student Body of San Gabriel Mission High School is a democracy based on parliamentary procedure that consists of five spots, and also works in conjunction with the Student Council of the school. Student Council (SC) is a collaboration of all club presidents and class boards in the school. Each Thursday they hold a meeting and go through certain orders of business around school that need their attention.
