, pre-space, pre-vet, pre-med, fashion design, interior design, architecture, a variety of band and instrument classes, AFJROTC, video production (with new equipment), many PE courses, High School Spanish, and a variety of art classes. There are many extracurricular activities during and after school. Recently, the school nearly doubled in size, with a new 2-floor building situated right at the middle of the school.
Many of the school's athletic and academic teams have won various competitions.

, Student Council, Volley Ball (JV, and Varsity), AFJROTC, Cheerleading (spirit, JV, and Varsity), Builder's Club, and more. One of the highlights of the school is its Pre-Aeronautics class, with a full flight simulator, including 20 other smaller simulators.
Sanford is one of the most highly-developed schools in the county. Very new technology, such as the Activ Boards
in some of the classrooms, allows for the computer screen to be projected on to a white board. It can be written on with a special pen that also acts as the mouse, and is a very interactive interface. In the geometry class that started in 08-09 (because of the demand for higher level math classes), a computer program called mr coolio is being used in place of compasses and straightedges to construct many geometric features.
