The word 'Sangsad' means parliament. So Sangsad TV is a parliamentary channel of Bangladesh.

Planning

The caretaker government of Bangladesh wanted to make an educational channel as BTV's 2nd channel. But later the AL government decide to make a parliamentary channel. So planning for Sangsad TV started.
