The 56th Santosh Trophy is being held for the second time in Thrissur, Kerala. 28 teams from all over the country were supposed to take part in the national state championships but six teams have pulled out. The pullout seems to have become normal. In the end, the surprise finalist Maharashtra beat the home team of Kerala 1-0.
