. She started BMXing in 1999 when she saw her brother, Matt, riding one day . And she has made her career from there ever since.
In the 2008 season UCI
Rounds, Sarah had won 7 races, came 2nd in one race and didn't race two races. She was ranked number one in the world by the UCI http://www.uci.ch/ucinet/default.asp?page=rankingsdetail&RankingsDetailID=541&discipline=BMX&continent=MON&ridercategory=WE&RankingsRace=MON&RankingsType=Individual&year=2008&l=ENG in 2008, and was one of the favorites to win the BMX women's event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, finishing 4th.
Walker has also won 9 New Zealand age group titles from 1999 to 2008.
On 25 July 2009, Walker won the BMX World Championship in Adelaide
