Born in London in 1984, Siem was educated at Cambridge University where she graduated with a double starred first, and subsequently at Harvard University
where she earned her PhD in music. She has also been a visiting scholar at Columbia University
.
Her work has garnered a British Composer Award, The Arthur Bliss Prize and the Royal Philharmonic Society
