 fishing village that was founded in 1785. It contains the French Shore's largest fish processing plant, Comeau Sea Foods, which has been in operations since 1946. Also Saulnierville has one of the oldest churches in the region, Sacré Coeur (Sacred Heart) Church, was built in 1880. saulnierville also has a very small population of about around 7000.

The village was founded by a man with the last name of Saulnier soˈɲe who was given a grant by the king of France when he came to America.
