Plot

Joan and George are out and tells Spike to guard the house. Just before they leave, Butch—who is a house cat in this cartoon—calls over his alley cat friends, Lightning, Topsy, and Meathead. They tip toe inside, he sees them and guards the door. They climb up in the tree. Spike pokes his head out, Lightning stops and asks Spike to remove Tyke, who bites his rear and runs.

First plan: Lightning holds a whip to get the antennae touch it, Spike's ear turns into a satellite. Lightning swings to the window until Spike "moves" the chimney and causing Lightning to fail to get in. Topsy is on a slingshot

, before he enter the window, Spike caught him with a glove and smacks him away.

Second plan: Meathead holds a ladder and jumps, Spike carries the ladder. Meathead holds the roof, causing it to be destroyed.

Third plan: They created a huge paper airplane with Topsy on board, it flies to the house. Spike burns it with fire and the plan thus, fails.

and Spike cuts it into a hoop, leading him to the trash. Spike jumps and the trash go to the cat's seesaw and Lightning crash there, too. Anger.

Fifth plan: Butch fixes the window himself, Lightning digs toward the house from underground, before he "touches" Spike (who is in there). Spike bites his arm as he walks out.

Sixth plan: The cats ride on the three-bike, where they enter the house, ended on the ground. Spike picks the dust and puts it in the trash. The cats look, mad.

Seventh plan: "Joan" and "George" arrive at the house. Then, Tyke bites "George". Spike pulls him away and George's entire "body" comes apart; the couple are actually the cats in disguise. Spike chases them up a tree, but not before they've grabbed some sandwiches from the house. Lightning comes down the tree to remove Tyke from his rump, handing him to Spike: "This your kid?"

In the last scene, the cats are eating the sandwiches in the tree and Lightning refers to Spike as a good watchdog—and Tyke as a "chip off the old block." Spike happily says to Tyke: "That's my boy!".
