The municipality is located in the Ilanz sub-district of the Surselva district on the left flank of the Gruob. It consists of the villages of Schluein, Casanova, and Fallerin. Until 1983 Schluein was known as Schleuis.

Of the rest of the land, 7.1% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (7.3%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).The municipality is located in the Ilanz sub-district of the Surselva district on the left flank of the Gruob.
