The Scott County Jail was built in 1897 and is the main detention facility for Scott County, Iowa

The jail is a four story building, and faces south on West Fourth Street in Downtown Davenport. The jail is in the same building as the Scott County Courthouse
and is connected via a skywalk to the Davenport Police Station. The jail has a capacity of 354 inmates. In 1999, the capacity was capped at 214. A $29.7 million upgrade expanded the housing to the current 354. Between the main downtown facility and the annex in northern Davenport, 500 inmates can be housed in the county.
