Playing career

Scott Stephenson first played for West Sydney Ice Dogs (now Sydney Ice Dogs) of the Australian Ice Hockey League

 (AIHL) in 2004. During his first season he played nine games, scoring one goal and recording four assists. In 2005 Stephenson moved to another AIHL club, the Central Coast Rhinos
