. The song is an adaptation of a Hubert Kemmler-produced song called "Trenchcoat Man", released as a single by German band Fabrique in 1987.
"Secret Land" was a successful song in Israel
, where it topped the chart, and was a top ten hit in Germany, South Africa and Switzerland, where it peaked at number seven, eight and nine, resprctively. It reached the top twenty in Sweden and Austria, reaching numbers sixteen and seventeen, respectively. Curiously, the single did not receive great success in France, where it peaked only at number twenty-six, whereas the previous Sandra singles were generally well received.
In 1999, Sandra re-recorded the song and shot a brand new music video for it. This version appeared on her compilation album
My Favourites
(1999) and was released as the first single from compilation. However, the single was not successful.
