Seimar Open is an annual Kazakhstan golf championship.
The Seimar Open finds the Kazakhstan golf champion and presents the grand-prix Challenge cup the “Big egg”. Grand-prix – Challenge cup “Big egg” was founded in 1998 by the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev
. Tournaments are conducted at the “Nurtau” golf-club in Almaty
.
The organization of this golf-tournament corresponds to all sports standards, rules and the etiquette accepted in golf.
SEIMAR OPEN is sports selection tournament, and is the basic check of skills of amateur sportsmen. But besides by participation in Seimar Open, sportsmen can become applicants for participation in the Kazakhstan Open pro-am golf tournament, spent within the limits of European Challenge Tour.
Young golf-players from different republic sport academies, which are the members of Kazakhstan golf federation and have some sport achievements, as usual take part in Seimar Open. Interest to this kind of sport is high today and continues to increase with high speed. About 300 children and teenagers from 3 to 18 years old are fond of golf only in Almaty. Some of them can train in “Nurtau” golf-academy absolutely free.
In 2009 was record number of participants at Kazakhstan golf championship Seimar Open this year. 93 golf-players started short-gun in the first day. Korean sportsman Kang Byung Ku won grand-prix – challenge cup “Big egg” with the result 152 without HCP among a lot of golf-players from different countries. The best participants from Kazakhstan became Adil Mukhamedzhanov (161) and Yerkebulan Bashikov (163).

History
The tournament was first held in 1998 and is considered one of the oldest and prestigious tournaments in Kazakhstan. Winners
The last years owners of “Big Egg” cup became Erkin Kaliev (Kazakhstan), Alexander Strunkin (Russia) and six times successively Shim Dong Ho (Korea), the winner of the tournament in 2006 became Minnala Shahbas (Great Britain), the winner of the tournament in 2007 - Andrey Lagaj (Kazakhstan). In 2008 “Big Egg” cup won Kim Do Yun (Korea), and the opening of tournament and acknowledgement of successful development of golf in Kazakhstan became young Kazakhstan sportsmen Roman Morozov and Alexander Vongay victories over several categories. The young sportsman from Kostanay Roman Morozov won at two categories: “Nearest to the pin” and “Longest drive”. And young sportsman from children's golf academy “Nurtau” Alexander Vongay became the vice-champion of tournament and became participant of Kazakhstan Open European Challenge Tour.
