Biography
After studying at the Ural Polytechnic Institute with a specialization in Industrial Heat Power Engineering in 1993, Popov became a partner in the Ural-Siberian Commercial and Industrial Company.Together with Andrei Melnichenko, he co-founded MDM Business Concern in 1996. From 1997-1999 he was a partner and business manager of the company, and in 2000 he became a founding member of MDM Industrial Group.
He was a member of the Board of Directors of RAO UES of Russia, JSC Pipe Metallurgical Company, JSC Evrokhim, MDM Industrial Group, and many other companies. Currently he is a member of the Board of Directors of Siberian Coal Energy Company
