. The Somerset County portion of the borough is part of the Johnstown
Metropolitan Statistical Area, while the Fayette County portion is part of the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 127 at the 2000 census. It is most well known for Seven Springs Mountain Resort
in Somerset County, although some areas still list the resort's business address as Champion, an unincorporated village located across the border in Fayette County.

There were 63 households out of which 17.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.1% were married couples
living together, 3.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.1% were non-families. 34.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.02 and the average family size was 2.56.
In the borough the population was spread out with 16.5% under the age of 18, 2.4% from 18 to 24, 29.9% from 25 to 44, 34.6% from 45 to 64, and 16.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 46 years. For every 100 females there were 108.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 116.3 males.
