Its area is 14,042 km². Its population is 1,914,958 (2010), of whom 40% live in the capital, Seville
, and its population density is 125.25/km² It contains 105 municipalities.
The province shares the Parque Nacional de Doñana
with Huelva province.
Seville has a warm oceanic climate
with an annual average temperature of 18.5 °C . Winters are generally mild and summers very warm. The maximum temperatures in summer often surpass 40°C. The locality of Écija
is popularly known as the “Frying pan of Andalusia” for its torrid summers.
Seville is the 4th most populated province in Spain and the 1st in Andalusia
