In 1915 Seymour purchased land in the Pine Street area (near Broad Street area) and by 1916 a new high school opened. In the 1960s the Pine Street school was converted to a middle school and a new high school was opened on Botsford Road.

Lastly, the HOPE Club also participates in a "Will Santa Find Me" program that provides holiday gifts for an unfortunate family.
HOPE Club is an active club in volunteering activities. The students benefit a lot from giving and sharing in this well-organized club.

History
Seymour built its first public High School in 1884 on Bank Street. It was on a 2 acres (8,093.7 m²) piece of property that the town purchased for $3,000 in June 1884. When the school opened in the Fall of 1886, there were 456 students in nine rooms. Later, the building was used as an elementary school known as Center School.In 1915 Seymour purchased land in the Pine Street area (near Broad Street area) and by 1916 a new high school opened. In the 1960s the Pine Street school was converted to a middle school and a new high school was opened on Botsford Road.

Facilities
The facilities at Seymour High School include a large auditorium and stage, a gymnasium that doubles as a basketball and volleyball court, a weight lifting gym, and six locker rooms (for swimming; boys and girls, for football/soccer; boys and girls, and two for weight lifting). Other sports facilities include a pool, an outdoor track, and a soccer field which doubles as a football field. The boy's baseball teams also uses French Park in Seymour.Faculty
