The Shanghai New International Expo Centre is an exhibition center in Shanghai

, where one of the halls was temporarily converted into a tennis court.
Construction started on November 4, 1999 with its opening taking place on November 2, 2001. It has, as of 2009, a capacity of 126,500 square meters indoor and 100,000 square meters outdoor exhibition area. Expo Center facilities include exhibition hall, conference center, business center, hotels, banking, post and telecommunications, transport services and catering.
The first phase investment amount was 99 million U.S. dollars.
An Expo Center expansion project is expected to be completed in 2010, and will result in 18 exhibition halls (200,000 square meters) and an expanded outdoor exhibition area of 130,000 square meters.
Shanghai New International Expo Center was supported by a number of domestic and foreign development agencies, including the Shanghai Pudong Land Development (Holding) Company, Deutsche Messe AG, Düsseldorf and Munich Trade Fair Exhibition Company Limited.
The United States design firm Murphy/Jahn designed the center.
