Meanwhile, Rampriti, the son of a wealthy family, who stays at he boarding was away home. The day he would be returning, he telephoned Annapurna Boarding to inform the cook Modon to cook for him that night. Seeing no one to answer the phone, Romola answers him, but Rampriti does not believe that there's a girl in the boarding and so an exchange of hot words take place. Rampriti, after returning was narrating this to Kedar, another resident of the boarding, but Romola overhears them and gives a scolding to Rampriti, silencing him.
However they both fall in love and exchange love letters, but the trivia did not remain undisclosed to the residents and they start teasing both of them. Rajanibabu, who was hurrying not to miss the train to this home was given the love letter and he keeps it in his pocket. In his home, he starts quarrelling with his wife and lefts his house at the dead of night. However, the love letter reached the hand of his wife and she thinks that her husband is in love.
Seeing their love, the marriage arrangements of Romola and Rampriti are made by Rajanibabu calling Rampriti's and Romola's father.
Rajanibabu's wife prepares a puja to bring him back. She became so impatient that she left for the boarding and after reaching the boarding charges at her husband and drags him into a room only to listen the truth from Rajanibabu that those love letters were Rampriti and Romola's. The residents make fun of them and the film ends with Rampriti and Romola sitting side by side in the marriage altar.
"Sharey Chuattor" does not mean 74 and half, it was written on the letters during old days. It means no one is supposed to open the letter except the addressee. This term however is not in use in modern times.

Story outline
The Annapurna boarding owned by Rajanibabu is a peaceful boarding where the residents have a good lot of friedship among all, except Shibbabu, a senior learned man, who sometimes acts like a killjoy. The real story begins when Romola, a relative of Rajanibabu and her family comes to stay in the bording, after being thrown out of their rented house. Rajanibabu calls a meeting where all the residents except Shibbabu cast vote in favour of Romola's staying.Meanwhile, Rampriti, the son of a wealthy family, who stays at he boarding was away home.
