The daughter of Joe Alvares, a man linked to Mumbai's music scene, she was a featured vocalist on several albums. She sang with bands Agnee, the Whirling Kalapas and eventually the lead singer in an all-girl Indian act called The Real Thing, managed and promoted by her father and in Shefali and the Distil Soul. She was also able to get featured in a number of important Bollywood film music. Alvares is also preparing her own album due for release very soon.
