History

The FBO began as the Fort Lauderdale Jet Center and the Daytona Beach Jet Center in 1988. They acquired their Orlando, Jacksonville, and LaGuardia locations all before June 2004. As these four places were fairly new to their home base their name was changed to SheltAir Aviation Services. Since the Daytona Beach and Fort Lauderdale locations had become accustomed to the Jet Center name, a two and a half year transition was planned, ending December 2006. Following the name change in June 2004, six other locations were opened in Florida and New York.
