The original high school was built in the early 1950s.

Shen has won 4 national Championships in 2 sports. They won the 1993 and 1994 National Championship for Class AA girls crosscountry. They also won 5 Class AA Soccer National Championships, one on the Woman's Varsity Team in 2004 and two in Mens in 1991 and 1992. Miles Joseph was on these teams.
