Born on April 5, 1983 to parents,,,   Shikha Uberoi began playing tennis at the age of six. She spent time working on the game as a youth at Saddlebrook Resort and also at Bollettieri and Hopman Academies.

She turned pro in August 2003. Though she has not won any WTA Tour event till date, Uberoi has three ITF Women's Circuit
