Shirati Hospital found its beginning with the arrival of Missionaries from the United States of America in 1934. These first missionaries from Eastern Mennonite Missions
were committed to providing education and health care in the Shirati Community. Professional medical personnel including physicians and nurses were sent soon afterwards. Gradually, permanent buildings were constructed. In 1952 male and female medical care wards were constructed. In 1972 a major renovation and additional construction was done to bring the hospital facilities up to modern standards. Throughout our history, Shirati Hospital in partnership with the Mennonite Church has been committed to providing health care and medical treatment to anyone needing medical care in our community.
