. The shire covered an area of 3576 square kilometres (1,380.7 sq mi), and existed from 1863 until 1994.
On 23 September 1994, the Shire was abolished, and merged with City of Portland
and most of Shire of Heywood
into the Shire of Glenelg.
Glenelg was not subdivided into ridings and its 12 councillors represented the entire shire.
