Shivajinagar in Bangalore is adjacent to bangalore cantonment area. It is covered by bangalore cantonment area, benson town, st. johns church road, the halsuru lake, rbanm educational institutions buildings, cubbon road, and the queens road. This is one of the oldest areas of bangalore and a commercial hub. It has many prominent temples, churches, mosques and also a parsi temple. It is populated by commercial street, old poor house road, veerapillai street, broadway road, makaan road, elgin road, seppings road, arunachal mudaliar road, dispensary road, plain street, tasker town road, guard cross road, nala road, dharmaraj koil road, thimmaiah road, st. johns road, cock burn road, haines road,queens road, chikka bazaar road, narayana pillai street, Ebrahim sahib street.
The greatness of this commercial hub is that people from all religions and all languages blend together and live life harmoniously. The st. marys church is thronged by people of all religions, like wise all temples, mosques, dargahs, parsi temple, and the gurudwara near the halasuru are frequented very much.
The shivajinagar is famous for russell market for everything in vegetables, fruits, groceries, poultry, fish,cutlery, utensils etc. The nearby beef market is also well known.
