Heslop is fast growing a reputation for scoring spectacular goals, with long range efforts being a trademark of his time at Halifax Town, as well as being a key feature of his impressive start to the 2010/2011 season with Oxford United. This is epitomised by his 30 yard screamer in Oxford United's 4–0 home victory over Morecambe on September 4, 2010.
