Sir Walter Yonge, 2nd Baronet

Sir Walter Yonge, 2nd Baronet (c. 1625-21 November 1670) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons
variously between 1660 and 1670.
Yonge was the son of Sir John Yonge, 1st Baronet
of Colliton and his wife Elizabeth Strode, daughter of Sir William Strode of Newnham and educated in Leyden and the Inner Temple.
In 1659 Yonge was elected Member of Parliament
for Honiton
and in 1660 for Lyme Regis
in the Convention Parliament. He inherited the baronetcy
on the death of his father in 1663. In 1667 he was elected MP for Dartmouth
and sat until his death in 1670.
Yonge married Isabel Davie, daughter of John Davie of Creedy, Devon. Their children included Walter
(1653-1731), who succeeded him in the baronetcy.
