Sirmur was surrounded by the hill states of Balsan and Jubbal in the North, the British district of Dehradun
in the East, Ambala district
in the South West, and the states of Patiala and Keonthal
in the North-West.
The population of Sirmur was 6256 according to the 1901 census.
