The album was certified UK Silver by BPI in September 1973.

By the first week of release, "Sladest" was awarded a UK Silver Disc. Two weeks after, the album was awarded a UK Gold Disc and was soon due to surpass 200,000 sales at the time.

The compilation was originally to be titled "The Best of Slade" before its release.

The album was voted #3 of the top three Slade album covers in the Slade Fan Club Poll of 1979.
