The Sixth form was amalgamated in 1983 in order to increase the education opportunities for all of the students from Sleaford

(Grammar School). However, before the beginning of this academic year (2010–11) Kesteven and Sleaford Sixth Form left the partnership. It was this decision that resulted in Carre's changing its sixth form admissions policy to allow girls into the school.
