published in 2001. The story is about Daisy, who hangs out with her friends Amy, Bella, Chloe and Emily: "The Alphabet Club", which was formed by Daisy herself. While she goes to their birthday sleepovers, she's worried that her brain-damaged sister Lily, wouldn't spoil her sleepover.

Storyline

The main character, Daisy, has just moved to a new school and has made friends with Amy, Bella, Chloe and Emily. They have a special secret Alphabet club, due to their names beginning with the first five letters of the alphabet (Amy, Bella, Chloe, Daisy and Emily) When Amy has a sleepover for her birthday, the others decide they will all do the same, but Daisy is worried about how her friends will react to her sister Lily, who has had special needs since she was born.

Daisy is invited to Amy, Bella and Emily's sleepovers with no hesitation, but Chloe takes more persuading (she deliberately didn't invite Daisy, but covered this up by saying "her mum said she could only have three people there"), and only gives in when the others refuse to go unless Daisy can.

At Daisy's party, Amy, Bella And Emily all like Lily but Lily got over-excited after seeing a toy teddy bear that was part of a present from Emily, and had to be put to bed. Chloe, who deliberately turned up late, took the micky out of Lily for having a rather large chair, and also warned Daisy she had better watch out or she'd be put to bed for over-excitedness. In the middle of the night Chloe needed to go to the toilet so she woke up Daisy and then hand in hand they both went inside upstairs. When they got to the top of the stairs Chloe got a bit scared because all she could hear was "UR UR UR UR UR" and she did not know that it was Lily. Later Daisy is now best friends with Emily and Chloe left the alphabet club to create a new group with some other girls. In the end of the book Daisy says that Lily is the best sister ever.

The parties each have a different main activity, including Dancing and Dress-up (Amy), swimming (Bella), having a Teddy Bear's Picnic (Emily), Making pizzas and scary films (Chloe) and Camping in the garden (Daisy).
