The Slovenian First League of Men's Handball is the top men's team handball
league in Slovenia
. It is organized by the Handball Federation of Slovenia. The league comprises twelve teams.
. In Yugoslavia, Slovenian clubs played in Yugoslavian Handball Championship in I. and II. league, interrepublic and republic leagues. In season 1991/1992 just after Slovenian independence, RZS was accepted to European Handball Federation
and IHF and first season in Europe for Slovenian teams was played in 1992/93.
