Tornado history
On April 27 2011 at 2:44PM CDT an EF5 tornado struck the town. The tornado was the first EF5 tornado in the world since 2008. Its winds are estimated to have peaked at 205 miles per hour (91.6 m/s). 16 people were killed, and 40 people were injured.Demographics
