whose aim is to provide a forum for all those interested in studying the Renaissance
. It pursues this though various meetings and publications and providing this and other support for interdisciplinary
teaching and research. The society was formed in 1967 with a founding general meeting being held at the Institute of Historical Research
. This meeting was chaired by the noted art historian Ernst Gombrich
and amongst those participating was Kenneth Clark
.
Its major publication is Renaissance Studies .
