, it is sometimes wrapped in star gooseberry leaves ("bai ma yom") or banana leaves for additional flavoring. Som moo may be eaten raw or cooked using common methods such as grilling. It is similar to the Vietnamese nem or nem chua and Thai naem, and there is controversy on whether som moo originated from Vietnam
