The Soma Institute's 750-hour Clinical Massage Therapy Diploma Program prepares students for the career of their choice within the massage field, from wellness massage at spas, to medical massage affiliated with hospitals, to sports massage for professional teams. This curriculum introduces the major components of clinical massage therapy, anatomy, bodywork, hydrotherapy, kinesiology, sports massage and physiology. In addition, the program includes labs, clinical integration, competency clinics and professional development.
The Soma Institute's 300-hour Master Clinical Massage Therapy Program builds upon the skills attained in their core program. It focuses on a holistic, preventative approach to health by introducing clinical applications of Eastern medicine. A wider perspective on the causes of musculoskeletal pain, such as nutrition and emotions, is presented along with self-care strategies for therapists and clients. Advanced light touch techniques are taught to provide therapists with the skills to work with clients with health challenges, who may not be able to receive deeper trigger point treatments. The program ends with marketing strategies to discover and reach new target markets. Individual Continuing Education courses are also available.
The Soma Institute is approved by the Illinois State Board of Education and is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training.
