Career

Lafuente began skating at age 4, after her parents took her and her sister to a newly opened rink in Madrid. She has been coached by Carolina Sanz and Ivan Saez throughout her career. In the 2003-4 season, she made her international debut as a novice, and finished with the bronze medal at the Merano Cup, an event she would win one year later. She began competing as a junior in 2005-6, and in 2006-7, became the first Spanish skater to win a Junior Grand Prix medal.
