Sonic Universe is a comic book
series set within Archie Comics's Sonic the Hedgehog continuity, designed to expand the horizon of that fictional universe. Sonic Universe deals with various characters throughout the fictional universe, including Shadow the Hedgehog
, Knuckles the Echidna
and many more. The first title arc is titled "Living Weapons" and will feature Shadow and Metal Sonic

produced a similar series of stories called "Sonic's World" from issue 26 onwards; it, too, expanded the fictional universe, following various characters in the Sonic universe on their own adventures, which eventually crossed over into the core series on numerous occasions.

) is ordered to destroy him by Eggman. Omega succeeds, but Gamma manages to merge his soul into Omega, resulting in a better, nicer robot. Shadow, Rouge, and Omega enter the Special Zone of Fiest's Domain and recover a Chaos Emerald.
the Hedgehog enters a portal that takes him to an alternate world where Enerjak is the supreme ruler who has, with his power, killed all the heroes and turned them into his own revivable warriors. Only a few Freedom Fighters, hardier versions of Mobius Prime's, are left, along with the Sword of Acorns. Silver joins the fight and, though all seems lost and all but one Freedom Fighter transformed, Silver is able to defeat Enerjak in an explosive battle and drain his power with the Sword. He leaves, letting the surviving Freedom Fighter Lara-Su use the power to revive her friends, people, and the world.

Arc 2: 30 Years Later (July 2009 - November 2009)
30 years after the final victory of Eggman and all their enemies, Sonic is king and Sally his queen. They have two children, Sonia and Manik, as does majority of the other Freedom Fighters. There is a celebratory meeting for the anniversary of Sonic's victory which is disrupted by an assassination attempt from Shadow's followers. Many of the old Freedom Fighters are captured, leaving it up to Sonic and the new generation of children to save the day and defeat Shadow, who has claimed the throne--and Sally--for himself.Arc 5: The Tails Adventure (June 2010 - September 2010)
