Synopsis

Pandian's(Kamal Hasan) friend (Arun)Nizhalgal Ravi also a police officer is killed. Kamal investigates his murder and finds a drug cartel responsible for his murder. But the gangsters abduct Pandian,drug him often and make him a drug addict.

Kamal Hassan planned to follow Soora Samhaaram with big budget film titled Athi Veerapandian in 1992 with himself directing and co-starring actress Iswarya, but dropped the film due to the failure of Singaravelan and decided to do Devar Magan in medium budget instead.
