and debuted as a member of the duo Route 0, alongside Malina Takahashi. The band released three singles: "Waku! Waku! It's Love", "Start", and "Painting", and 3 B-Sides : Go Go Happy!!, Kimi Ni Ae Ta Kara (君に会えたから) and Onna No Ko Magic (女の子マジック). The group was later disbanded in 2003.
Sooyoung graduated from JeongShin Women High School (Korean

On the way to do a volunteer service on Sunday, August 28, 2011, Sooyoung had a car crash at 9 a.m. due to another motorist's driving. Sooyoung was not able to participate in 'SMTOWN LIVE in TOKYO SPECIAL EDITION' and Girls' Generation's concert in Taiwan and she planned to receive treatment for her injuries for a while.
